Feeling overwhelmed, or distracted? Like you’re suffocating from the inside out? Like you’ve got so much on your mind but you’re too numbed out to really figure out how to express it, to talk to someone?
Open up a text edit document, or a word document. Start writing your thoughts, flow of consciousness style. Don’t reread what you wrote, you’ll probably feel like an idiot, and don’t stop to pause, to think about how you want to say anything. Just say it. Whatever is on your mind, let it out and type as fast as you possibly can. When you’re done, exit out of the window and don’t save.
If you don’t feel better, or better able to focus and get done what you need to get done, then seriously consider talking to someone or trying other things.
… But I’ll be damned if you don’t feel at least a little better after.
